Mithras sanctuary

This a sanctum from the third century after Christ, it has been built by Roman soldiers. The Roman legion soldiers brought the worship of the Persian god of the sun Mithras from the Middle East to here. The temple belonged at a villa, a Roman agriculture company. The sanctum lies on the border with Austria. Beside the visit it is also possible to make a tour from Fertőrákos with an electric car (golf hamper). It is not possible to drive with it's own car to the sanctum.
