The visitor centre at Szeleta Park offers hours of entertainment and discovery for young and old alike! The visitor centre's exhibition, entitled 'The thousand-year-old secrets of the Bükk caves ? The nature of primitive man', presents the following in a playful and interactive way: ? the natural resources of Bükk, ? its remarkable geological history, ? its unique water management and cave system, ? its beehive rocks, ? the characteristic flora and fauna of the mountains, ? and the world-famous Szeleta culture, the results of research into primitive man in Hungary. All this is presented not only graphically, but also via interactive surfaces and 2D/3D films.
The Kőkori Karszt Kaland indoor playground in the building is designed for children aged 5 to 12. Children can descend into the "Töbör pit" and go on an adventure in a multi-level tunnel, while observing the fauna of the Bükk Mountains. During their discoveries, they can encounter the sabre-toothed tiger, but also try their hand at archaeology. The Bikkmakk playground is located in the square in front of the building, and the Pókfonal playground awaits the little ones in the park, which can be visited with an admission ticket. A huge themed playground awaits the children in the fresh air. While the children play, adults can refresh themselves and have a bite to eat in the Szeleta Park bistro. The themed range of the gift shop is complemented by products bearing the Bükki National Park quality mark, and to mark the opening of the visitor centre, the reissued novel "Kőbaltás ember" (The Man with the Stone Axe) is also on sale. In the vicinity of the building, you can also discover the Jövő ösvény (Path of the Future), which is complemented by a rock garden and a bird and insect-friendly garden. But if you feel like a longer walk, the 3.5 km long Szinva educational trail also starts at Szeleta Park.
