Forest of Gemenc

The forest has a size of approximately 20,000 ha. The flora and fauna is very beautiful, you'll find red deer and wild boar. The park is on foot to visit but more fun is to take the train. There are two trains, a small steam train leaves from Pörböly and gets you with one stop (30min) in Lovasfok in an half hour in Gemenc what is right in the middle of the forest. From Gemenc you can go with a small diesel train to Bárányfok which lasts approximately one hours. Here, a brief stop is also made in Kesselyüs. This trip can also be made from Bárányfok with the dieselengine. It is best to take the first train, which leaves at about 08:30 - from Pörböly, the nature is at its best.
