Muzi playground (Budapest)

Budapest • Playgrounds

Description

In the renovated garden of the Hungarian National Museum, we find the Muzi themed playground, inspired by Budapest at the turn of the century, or rather by two literary works closely connected to this place: Ferenc Molnár's The Paul Street Boys and Árpád Pásztor's Muzi. Designed for children aged 2 to 14 and located in the quieter rear part of the park, the playground's central feature is a steam sawmill, which doubles as a climbing frame, slide and play castle. One of the most popular attractions is the horse-drawn tram, reminiscent of the former line that connected Kálvin Square with Újpest, but there is also a marble run with a vending machine (for when we have forgotten our glass marbles at home), swings, roundabouts and a merry-go-round. The playground was designed by landscape architect Dr Gergely Hajdu-Nagy, and the play equipment was designed and constructed by ASAPA Alkotócsoport.
